Experienced Café Chef/Baker

Comida is a Café/Restaurant located in the center of Nelson. We are seeking an experienced kitchen professional to join our small team.
The Opportunity
Our menu is Italian/Mediterranean-inspired and focuses on quality ingredients, healthy seasonal dishes. We focus on authenticity and value - quality rather than quantity. We seek an experienced and versatile culinary professional who works well in a small team environment.
Hours
The Cafe operates 6 days a week, Monday to Saturday, 8:30am to 3pm (kitchen closes at 2pm). We are closed Sundays. and public holidays. We are currently open two evenings per week - on Thursday and Friday. The hours are usually very consistent between summer and winter seasons.
Responsibilities
We are seeking an experienced Chef/Baker who has worked, or who would like to work, in a Sous Chef-type capacity. This involves:

- Day-to-day cooking in the kitchen
- Managing the seasonal menu, and developing new dishes
- Managing costings, stock and ordering
- Helping to keeping the kitchen and FoH team strong and happy
- Ensuring all communications between kitchen and front of house run smoothly
